Well my *layout a day* challenge was not a success, life happens. I only completed two layouts. The main distraction was Mallory's double ear infection and along with that a high fever. So after a trip to the doctor and the pharmacy, I just cuddled with her on the couch most of the time. Poor thing. She is feeling much better now, thank goodness. I hate it when the girls are sick, *hate it*. I had a lot of time to play out ideas in my head for the shop among other things ( I had my journal on the side table to jot as necessary) which brings me to this.....
Remember the Monogrammed Pumpkin post? Well... because Fall is my most favorite time of the year and it is the season of giving, I am giving away one Monogrammed Pumpkin. So leave me a comment about a favorite fall tradition you have or a memory you have of the season by 5P Friday September 12. The lovely Miss Mallory will pick a winner who will receive a medium size pumpkin with the monogram of his/her choice.

My favorite fall memory is watching the kiddos play in the leaves last year on my birthday! They kept burying our (then 8 lb) German Shepherd puppy!

My favorite fall tradition is the day we make homemade applesauce and caramel apples. Everyone works together and it smells so good in the house. The rewards are so worth it!

My favorite fall memory is stuffing old clothes with straw to make fall/halloween decorations. It has been a long time but maybe it is time to try again!
Jennifer,
Since luck has been with me , I am signing up..will give this to a cherished family member if I happen to win...you will get a laugh out of my favorite fall memory ..I look so forward to a special "Caramel Green Apple Martini" that I make (from scratch ) only during the fall months...it is a beautiful green apple color and I rim the glass edges with caramel...sometimes, if I am being "fancy" , I float a green apple slice on top. You may remember having had these at my house before...apple bobbing, floating "fake tongue in my martini " etc...maybe it is time for another of those "parties"...luv ya !! jessica
Jessica, I had forgotten about the fake tounge LOL I seem to remember it getting stuck in the ceiling too at some point:)
My favorite tradition isn't just in fall...almost every summer since Dean and I have been together we have celebrated "Thanksgiving in the summer" We cook EVERYTHING you would cook for Thanksgiving and have a little celebration of our very own! He loves turkey! So, Thanksgiving comes twice a year here at our house!
I also love the changing into fall, all the beautiful colors of the trees! In Louisiana, the trees would just brown mostly...but in Tennessee the colors are so beautiful and vibrant! I love it!!!
One of my favorite fall traditions is decorating the front porch of our house. It's always full of pumpkins and scarecrows and gets us in the mood for cooler weather!
my favorite fall tradition is no longer sweating.
Well I live in Florida, so we just imagine that there is a difference in the air come September. I love to unpack the fall decorations and cover the house in pumpkins, fall leaves, candles, and scarecrows. When I go outside, it's sweltering, but when I come inside, I can pretend I'm in a state where they actually experience the leaves changing.
I love taking my kids trick-or-treating!
I love getting out all of the Halloween decorations and putting them up as a family. It's so fun to decorate the house and it just feels magical!
We love taking pics at our local pumpkin patch...the colors are always so vibrant! I am loving these monogrammed pumpkins!
We started a new fall tradition last year of taking our son to the pumpkin patch. He was only a couple months old at the time. I can't wait to continue the tradition and look back in years to come at all the pics from the pumpkin patch!
My favorite tradition as a child was setting out a bale of hay in our front yard along with a scarecrow and 3 or 4 HUGE pumpkins from my grandparents' farm. Love the monogrammed pumpkins!
My favorite fall memory is from last year. Last October my grandfather was dying (he passed away on Halloween). Every year my husband and I go to Wurth's Farms, it's a farm that has a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, everything you could every want for fall. Last year we took my little cousin's with us. When we got there the youngest decided she wanted to get a pumpkin for Pawpaw, so we bought one, painted it, and gave it to him for his birthday on the 25th. When we gave it to him he smiled so beautifully. It was his last smile before he passed 6 days later. On a lighter note I love the weather that we get here in KY, it's so cool and crisp!
Came over form Tip Junkie...one of my favorite fall memories is waiting until the leaves fall and taking the kids out to play in them while I snap a thousand pictures!
I love all the baking that comes in fall! It's cold enough to have the oven going ALL the time and I bake bread, cookies, cakes, anything just to be baking!
we too like going pumpkin hunting. We usually end up going to the local farmers market and letting him oick one out of the huge trailor full. He likes the biggest ones. We go home and decorate it and then daddy guts it and we place it on the front porch. He is three and enjoys it very much.
what a cute giveaway. My favorite fall tradition is going to a pumpkin patch with the kids every year. We load up the wagons (yes, we usually end up with two) with tons of pumpkins of many sizes, gourds and indian corn.
We have started going to a local farm with their great fall festival. My son LOVES going. They have a maze, tractor rides, butterfly house, petting zoo, games, craft fair, music, and food. We have the best time as a family. It's still hot here in FL for this but we still go and have a great time!
Our family tradition is to take a trip to the pumpkin farm to pick out our pumpkins. We then go home and make a mess!
What a fun giveaway!

I have so many favorites but one of the best is watching It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! We always look forward to it.
Halloween is such fun for the whole family. I remember having Halloween parties in our basement which was all decorated and mom made these gooey weird things to touch blindfolded that were a bit scary when she described what creature or item we were touching. I love this holiday because adults can have as much fun as kids and dress up too!
I love to pick apples in the fall and make apple pie! Mm.
I love getting all dressed up on Halloween. I love raking up all the leaves and jumping into them. I love the colors changing and the crisp air. And when I was little I was always excited about going back to school1
i love the fall smells... cinnamon, pumpkin, etc. and i love seeing each and every trick-or-treater decked out in their costume!
The kids all get their own punpkin. They go out on the back porch to carve it up their way. While mom & dad stay in the kitchen making hot apple cider & waiting on pumpkin seeds to be toasted in the oven. Now we have 2 grandchildren to add to the pumpkin carving. (it may be awhile before they get to weld the knives)
My oldest was born in October and he loves all things fall and Halloween because they remind him of his birthday (he'll be 8 very soon). I've spent the past few years stocking up on Halloween decorations at the post-Halloween sales and now we have quite the selection! His enthusiasm is contagious and I just love decorating with him every year!
I love the fall, its may favorite time of the year! One of my favorite traditions is we make homeade doughnuts on halloween! YUM
My favorite fall tradition is going with the family to pick out a pumpkin (or two or three) and carving and decorating them! I love your pumpkins!
Hi Love the monogramed pumpkins....
My favorite fall memories are of taking my grandson to the pumpkin patch!
Diane
Our favorite new tradition is taking our Puppies to the pumpkin patch together. Our Lab and chihuahua have a ball running around the hay and sniffing every pumpkin! We hope to win a monogramed pumpkin that would make a great beginning to this fall.
