Halloween Set

I recently did this set for a customer. They turned out really cute I think.

I can't wait to get my stuff up. My grandmother will be here for a visit this weekend, I am hoping she will feel like making me a new fall wreath for my front door. She is the *queen* of floral arranging. I won't even go into the the amount of time my Mother and I have spent with her shopping for flowers. Right Mom? Anyway it is always fun! I did make this screen pumpkin thingy last weekend. I am still trying to decide if I like it or not. It was a total experiment. I will snap a picture this weekend and post it, OK I'm off to take Lindsey to cheer and grab a couple of things from the store for dinner that I forgot to get earlier in the week.

Hope everyone's weekend is fabulous!

Weddings

I stumbled upon this, well actually someone emailed me and asked if that was my stuff. Well *holy cow* it is.

The little scalloped place cards and the table numbers are mine. Diana was great to work with. This is the first I have seen my stuff in use and it makes me all giddy inside.

Friday's Distraction

There is always commentary...ALWAYS!

So sweet, flowers for Mommy.

I just *love* the feet!Like Mally's dress? I have been busy sewing. Big sister has one just like it, sorry no pics of them together, after school was a bit busy, with cheer and then over to a friends for a sleep over. Lindsey had no time to model for me.

I got nothin'

I have a lot to say just don't know where to start, too much going on. Right now I should be working on some orders (some are drying, some are on the machine, some are in my head waiting to burst out) while the girls are at school/MDO, but here I sit reading blogs, IMing hubby at work, while he is probably being productive. I shouldn't bring him down with me should I? Oh well. Sometimes I just want to take a break, I don't do that nearly enough, always go, go, go.

I finished up the cutest little gift(s) for my new niece a couple of days ago. I can't post pictures just yet, I want it to be a surprise for my brother and sis-in-law.

I have also had several requests/orders for Monogrammed Pumpkins and some candy buckets(larger ones), I have decided to take requests so let me know if you are interested.

OK, my dogs are driving me nuts with all the barking, gotta go see what is up. Good grief.

Aunt BeeJees again

I almost for got to mention I am an Aunt again. My brother and his wife just had their second child on Tuesday, another sweet little girl, Miss Taylor Morgan. I am still waiting on some real pictures, I only have the one he sent me on my cel phone right after she was born. I can't wait to get my hands on her. I hate being so far away from them. So if you are counting, my brother and I have 4 girls between us. Pink everywhere. I love it!!!!

Fabric and paper blah blah blah

I have been sewing several little peasant dresses for Mally and Lindsey even wanted me to make her one to match little sis. I have pants, jumpers and bibs cut out and ready to sew as well. I have also been working on some new paper designs for the shop. It has been a very productive week and that makes me all giddy inside. :) The girls are at school/MDO today and hubby took the rest of the week off from work to get some things done around the house/yard. One of which is building a new shed/barn for his *manly stuff*. I suppose I will go and give him a hand here in a minute. Even if we are sweating our rears off we can spend some time together doing it.

Don't forget the giveaway, I have enjoyed reading the comments thus far.

Sometimes things don't go as planned... and a GIVEAWAY!

Well my *layout a day* challenge was not a success, life happens. I only completed two layouts. The main distraction was Mallory's double ear infection and along with that a high fever. So after a trip to the doctor and the pharmacy, I just cuddled with her on the couch most of the time. Poor thing. She is feeling much better now, thank goodness. I hate it when the girls are sick, *hate it*. I had a lot of time to play out ideas in my head for the shop among other things ( I had my journal on the side table to jot as necessary) which brings me to this.....

Remember the Monogrammed Pumpkin post? Well... because Fall is my most favorite time of the year and it is the season of giving, I am giving away one Monogrammed Pumpkin. So leave me a comment about a favorite fall tradition you have or a memory you have of the season by 5P Friday September 12. The lovely Miss Mallory will pick a winner who will receive a medium size pumpkin with the monogram of his/her choice.

We Played...

Aside from helping our friend/neighbor with the animals over the weekend we just hung out, no real plans just spent time together. Lindsey hung out with some friends when she wasn't taking care of cats or playing with us. We took a family walk, goofed around the yard and then we painted with side walk chalk paint. We ran out of the store bought stuff and then I remembered a blog post from here and here about how to make your own (equal parts cornstarch and water and a couple of drops of food coloring) . So I headed to the kitchen while David and the girls finished off the last of the paint. They had a blast. David was getting a little uncomfortable with the mess, but he finally let go of the need to hose them down. If he only knew what happened around here while he is at work....oh boy.

We had fun watching them, esp. Mallory she was in *messy* heaven. I love watching her make art.

Today both girls are at school/MDO so I will be working. I have also challenged myself to create one layout per day this week. I have a stack of pictures and tons of paper. The goal is to make it quick and not think about it too much, just do it. I'll try to post those as I complete them.

Monogrammed Pumpkins

Now that fall is 23 days away, I have started trying to plan out my fall decorating. It is after all my favorite time of the year. A few years ago I painted these foam pumpkins with our monogram (the P was for my Mom)

Edited 9/2/08: I just got back from Michael's, the foam pumpkins are 40% off this week.
I bring this up now because the foam pumpkins are out at Garden Ridge, Michael's (save your Sunday sale flyer coupons) and a few other craft stores around town. I used outdoor patio paint to paint the ones above. I printed out a cute font in the size I wanted and used some carbon to trace the letter on the pumpkin then I just free handed the swirls and polka-dots (I may have too many, I never know when to quit with those :) ). Once the paint was dry, (I let it sit for about an hour but it was dry long before then) I sprayed a coat of clear sealant on the pumpkins. That's it, pretty simple. I use mine on our front entry table with one of my decoupaged candy buckets and some other fun Halloween/Fall decorations.
